Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier issued the following statement on 22 March on the attack in London: "I am deeply shocked by the news of the murderous attack in London. My thoughts are with the victims and the injured, as well as with those mourning or fearing for a loved one. Our deepest sympathy goes out to them. At this difficult time we Germans feel especially close to the British people."
