The Federal President issued the following statement on 3 April regarding the attack in St Petersburg: "I am shocked and saddened by the news from St Petersburg, where an explosive device has killed a number of people. It is not yet known what was behind the incident. Our thoughts are with everyone in Russia. Our special sympathy goes to the families of the victims. I wish the injured a speedy recovery."
