The Federal President and Daniela Schadt paid a state visit to Ireland from 13 to 15 July. The focus of the Federal President’s visit to the Irish capital, Dublin, was on political talks, which included meetings with the President of Ireland, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Members of the Oireachtas (Parliament). His visit concentrated on European policy matters and Ireland’s approach to the national debt and financial crisis. The Federal President also visited Co. Galway and Co. Clare.

Federal President Joachim Gauck and Daniela Schadt had made a state visit to Ireland from 13 to 15 July.

The focus of the Federal President’s visit to the Irish capital, Dublin, was on political talks, which included meetings with the President of Ireland, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Members of the Oireachtas (Parliament). Federal President Gauck had also met business people. His visit concentrated on European policy matters and Ireland’s approach to the national debt and financial crisis. The Federal President had also visited Co. Galway and Co. Clare in the west of Ireland.
