On 20 April Federal President Joachim Gauck welcomed Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania, to Germany for a state visit. In the morning there was a welcome with military honours followed by talks with the Federal President in Schloss Bellevue. In the evening the Federal President, together with Daniela Schadt, held a state banquet in honour of the Lithuanian President. The focus of the visit was on continuing the trust-based dialogue with President Grybauskaitė, which is an expression of the good relations between Germany and Lithuania.

On 20 April Federal President Joachim Gauck welcomed Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania, to Germany for a state visit.

In the morning there was a welcome with military honours followed by talks with the Federal President in Schloss Bellevue. In the evening the Federal President, together with Daniela Schadt, held a state banquet in honour of the Lithuanian President.

The focus of the visit was on continuing the trust-based dialogue with President Grybauskaitė, which is an expression of the good relations between Germany and Lithuania.

The agenda also included a visit to Potsdam.
The last Lithuanian state visit to Germany took place in 2005.

Federal President Joachim Gauck most recently travelled to Lithuania in 2013 for a state visit.
