Today, together with our friends, we remember with gratitude the historic events that took place 30 years ago. The peaceful revolutions in Eastern Europe and German unity would not have been possible were it not for the courage and the desire for freedom shown by the Poles, Hungarians, Czechs and Slovaks. This was, without a shadow of a doubt, a major historic achievement. However, we all call to mind the fact that these are events that make it possible for us to say today that we are united for the better in Europe.
